The Best Getaway Guide For Fredericksburg, Texas

Hi y’all! Grant and I had the most wonderful 2nd anniversary trip to Fredericksburg, Texas and I wanted to share a little recap in case you ever find yourself there! 🙂

We had never been to Fredericksburg before — but we had heard such great things about the Texas hill country and wanted to check it out! In doing some research, I found the cutest airbnb called Jumping Goat Ranch and reached out to them about our upcoming anniversary and they so generously hosted us for the days we were there.

We arrived in Fredericksburg on Sunday the 31st – our anniversary! We weren’t able to check in to the airbnb until 4:00 pm so we first stopped for brunch at a cute spot called Otto’s. Then we killed some time walking around downtown, and then headed to our winery tour at 1:45 pm at Augusta Vin.

Augusta Vin was so stunning and we loved learning about their process of making wine and trying some of their most popular ones!

We are not wine snobs at all and there are SO many wineries to choose from — I loved the look and vibe of Augusta Vin the best and would definitely go back.

After our wine tour, it was time to head over and check in to our Airbnb! We stayed in the Angora house at Jumping Goat Ranch and it couldn’t have been more perfect. It is very private and secluded and has the most amazing views.

We unpacked, freshened up a bit, and then headed back out to grab a bite of dinner! We went to Hondos where I had a fabulous burger and we sat and enjoyed the live music for a while.

The next day, Monday, we didn’t have a ton of set plans because I knew we would both had to work — and, a lot of restaurants and things are closed on Mondays — just an FYI!

We grabbed breakfast at Texas Sunrise and then came back to the airbnb to get some work done.

After getting some work done, we headed back out and did some more exploring downtown and grabbed a pretzel & beer from Fredericksburg Brewing Company before browsing through Carol Hicks Bolton Antiques and some other cute places on Main Street!

We both agreed that our last meal was definitely our favorite — at Hill & Vine!

We were honestly so stuffed from eating so much yummy food! So we shared THE best nachos we’ve both ever had, split a bottle of wine, and had the most amazing croissant bread pudding (1000/10)! We can’t wait to go back to Hill & Vine with emptier stomachs so we can try more things on the menu!

Overall, it was such a sweet little getaway and we loved exploring Fredericksburg and staying at Jumping Goat Ranch! We can’t wait to plan another visit soon 🙂
