What To Wear For Family Photos

Hi y’all! Today I’m sharing some helpful tips and tricks on putting together the perfect outfit for family photos with the help of Faherty! Thank you so much, Faherty, for sponsoring this post.

When it comes to choosing what to wear for family photos whether it be a Christmas card, engagement photos, or family reunion photos, you want to wear items that are flattering, timeless, and comfortable.

The last thing you want is to look back on these photos and think “what was I wearing??”

Here are some tips I have to offer while planning what to wear:

1. Choose Classic Colors

When thinking about what colors to wear or if you’re trying to color coordinate, take in to account where you’re taking the photos and what colors would pair nicely with each other. Here is an article I found with family photo color palette pairings if you need help in that department!

I, personally, tend to lean towards greens, blue, and creams — I feel like they look good on everyone and most people already own these colors.

Faherty offers a lot of of pretty classic, muted, and neutral colors that all pair well with each other, which makes putting together an outfit easy!

There are so many colors to pull from in this Sugar Hill Plaid Legend Sweater Shirt I’m wearing in the photo below. Not to mention, it is extremely soft and cozy! You can use my code LOUISEM20 at fahertybrand.com for 20% off!

2. Flattering Fits

Secondly, you want to wear items that flatter your figure. Here is an article I found that helps explain what kind of items might fit your body type best!

I love how Faherty offers items that are classic and comfortable while still being flattering! I tend to stay away from items that look like a “potato sack” for lack of a better term. These Stretch Cord Wide Leg Pants help accentuate my waist, make my legs look longer, and are still super comfortable! They come in several different colors as well. They can also be easily paired with a neutral top like the Boone Sweater pictured on the left.

3. Comfortable Fits

Lastly, but most importantly in my book, is being comfortable! You want to wear items that look like you and that don’t need to be constantly adjusted!

Faherty has some of the the *softest* items I’ve ever worn!

This Jackson Sweater Dress I’m wearing in the photos below, feels like I’m wearing a nightgown! I love the soft belt that adds a little bit of waist definition.

Again, you can use my code LOUISEM20 for 20% off you next order. I am 5’4 and I am wearing a 26 in pants and XS in everything else.

Thank you so much for reading and thank you to Faherty for sponsoring this post!
