Day Trip to Salem & Gloucester, MA

Hi y’all! Last Friday, we took a little day trip to Salem & Gloucester and I wanted to share a little recap!

Grant had an appointment in Salem to take his discovery flight (to then potentially get his pilots license) and so we made a day out of it.

To watch the video version of our day, be sure to check out this vlog on my YouTube channel 🙂

We arrived at the Beverly airport around 9:30 for Grant’s appointment at 10. His whole flight took about an hour!

Of course, he loved it! His instructor kept saying how he was truly a natural at flying.

After Grant’s flight, we headed to downtown Salem where we grabbed a bite of lunch at the Fountain Place (probably wouldn’t go back tbh) and then we walked around the downtown area.

I had done some research beforehand and wanted to stop by Ropes Mansion & Garden.

It was like a secret garden! So beautiful.

After my requested stop, we were kind of finished with Salem.. it was very hustle and bustle and spooky vibes so we hopped back on the road and headed to Gloucester to see the Eastern Point Lighthouse.

The drive to Gloucester was stunning! I could seriously drive around for hours looking a beautiful houses and not get bored.

Gloucester reminded me a lot of Nantucket, obviously I know that’s just New England vibes itself, but I love it!

Off in the distance is Boston!

The yacht club 🙂

It could not have been a more beautiful day! Not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket 😉

After a while of walking around and seeing the sights, we made a pit stop by Starbucks and then headed back home to the city.

Though it was a very chill trip, Grant said it was one of his favorite days we’ve had in a while and I completely agree. Since living in the city, it is so refreshing to get out of the city– even if juts to smell the fresh air!

Thanks for reading!
